Ed Hearn is a former professional baseball player who was born on November 23, 1960, in Stuart, Florida. He played as a catcher in Major League Baseball for three seasons from 1986 to 1988, with the New York Mets, Kansas City Royals, and Cincinnati Reds. Hearn was a key contributor to the Mets' World Series championship team in 1986, where he played in 39 games and batted .287 during the regular season. Hearn's passion for baseball began during his childhood years, where he spent countless hours practicing and perfecting his craft. He attended Roncalli High School in Indianapolis and played for their baseball team, earning him a scholarship to attend the University of South Florida. After his college career, Hearn was drafted by the Mets in the 2nd round of the 1981 Major League Baseball draft. He spent several years in the minor leagues before being called up to the majors in 1986.

Despite his short career, Hearn's contributions to the Mets' championship run will forever be remembered by fans. He was known for his excellent defense, strong arm, and leadership qualities on the field. After his baseball career ended, Hearn became a motivational speaker, sharing his experiences and life lessons with audiences around the world. He also wrote a book titled "Conquering Life's Curves," where he talks about his struggles with injuries, his baseball career, and his journey to finding purpose and meaning after his playing days were over.
