Ed Roebuck Autographs
Ed Roebuck was an American professional baseball pitcher born on July 3, 1931, in East Millsboro, Pennsylvania. He began his baseball career as a right-handed pitcher for the Brooklyn Dodgers in 1955, and in the following year, he became the team's primary relief pitcher. Roebuck was known for his excellent control on the mound and his ability to pitch in high-pressure situations. He was also an outstanding fielder and made several crucial plays during his career.
Roebuck went on to have a long and successful career in Major League Baseball (MLB), playing for several teams, including the Los Angeles Dodgers, Philadelphia Phillies, and Washington Senators. He spent most of his career as a relief pitcher, appearing in over 500 games and recording 52 saves. Roebuck had his best season in 1956, when he was an All-Star and helped lead the Dodgers to the World Series. He finished the season with a record of 8-2 and an ERA of 2.69.
In addition to his playing career, Roebuck also had a successful coaching career. He began coaching after retiring from playing in 1966, and in 1976 he became the pitching coach for the Philadelphia Phillies, helping lead them to their first World Series championship in 1980. Roebuck remained with the Phillies as a coach until 1983 and also served as a coach for the New York Yankees and St. Louis Cardinals. Ed Roebuck died in October 2018 at the age of 87, leaving behind a legacy as one of the best relief pitchers and coaches in baseball history.
