Romero's time with the Brewers was marked by several standout moments. In 1985, he had a game-tying two-run single in the ninth inning of Game 1 of the American League Championship Series against the Kansas City Royals. The Brewers went on to win the game and advance to the World Series. Two years later, in 1987, Romero had perhaps his best season, hitting a career-high .303 and playing a key role in the Brewers' playoff push. Over the course of his 11-year career, Romero played for several other teams in addition to the Brewers, including the California Angels and Atlanta Braves.

After retiring from baseball, Romero continued to stay involved in the sport. He worked as a coach and scout, helping to develop young players and identify talent for future teams. He also remained a popular figure in Milwaukee, where he was known not only for his skills on the field but also for his upbeat personality and warm demeanor. Today, Romero is remembered as one of the most beloved players in Brewers history, and his legacy lives on through the team and the fans who still remember the moments he helped create.
