Ed Sprague is a former Major League Baseball player, born on July 25, 1967, in Castro Valley, California, United States. Sprague played first and third base for 11 seasons for San Francisco Giants, Pittsburgh Pirates, and Oakland Athletics. Sprague debuted on September 1, 1991, with the Toronto Blue Jays and played a significant role in their 1992 and 1993 World Series victories. Sprague contributed five hits, two home runs, and six RBIs in the 1992 World Series against the Atlanta Braves, which led to winning the World Series. He also had two hits, a home run, and an RBI in the 1993 World Series as the Blue Jays defeated the Philadelphia Phillies. Sprague also played for the Pirates, Athletics, and Seattle Mariners in subsequent seasons.

Throughout Sprague's career, he scored 740 hits, 152 home runs, and 558 RBIs with a .247 batting average. Sprague retired from the MLB after the 2001 season, and his number was retired by the San Jose Giants in 2017. After retiring, Sprague became the head coach of the Pacific Tigers and also worked as a television analyst for the Toronto Blue Jays. Today, Ed Sprague remains one of the Toronto Blue Jays' all-time greats, leading their organization towards consecutive World Series titles in the early 1990s.
