Eric Bell is a retired American professional baseball player who was born on September 13, 1964, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He began his baseball career at Carrick High School in Pittsburgh and later went on to play college baseball for Miami-Dade College. Bell made his MLB debut for the Orioles on September 6, 1985, at the age of 20. In his rookie season, he pitched in 11 games, starting in 9 of them, and finished the season with a record of 3-3 with an ERA of 4.10. In the following season, Bell became a regular member of the Orioles' starting rotation and had an outstanding year, finishing with a record of 11-7 and an ERA of 3.23. His performance earned him a place in the American League All-Star team in 1987.

Throughout his eight-year MLB career, Bell played for the Orioles, the Pittsburgh Pirates, the Montreal Expos, and the Cincinnati Reds. He finished his career with a record of 69-73 and an ERA of 4.17. Bell was known for his control and his ability to pitch deep into games. He retired from baseball in 1996 and has since stayed involved in the sport, coaching at various levels, including high school and college.
