Frank Baker Autographs
Frank Baker was a well-known American baseball player, born on March 13, 1886, in Trappe, Maryland. He played as third baseman for various teams including, the New York Yankees, Philadelphia Athletics, and the Washington Senators, during the early 20th century. Frank Baker was a prolific hitter, and his prowess on the field earned him the nickname “Home Run Baker.”
In 1908, Frank Baker began his professional baseball career with the Lancaster Red Roses team of the Tri-State League. He played in the league for a brief period before joining the Philadelphia Athletics in 1909. During his time with the Athletics, he played in four World Series with the team, winning three of them. His performance in the 1911 World Series garnered him additional fame as he hit two crucial home runs in the series against the New York Giants, which earned him his nickname.
Frank Baker’s baseball career lasted until 1922, with his final season playing for the Yankees. Over the course of his career, Baker batted over .300 seven times and had several all-star appearances. He is best known for his exceptional hitting ability, and his smooth fielding at third base. In the years following his retirement, Frank Baker was inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1955. He remains an icon in the history of baseball and will always be remembered for his outstanding contributions to the game.
