Frank House

Frank House was an American professional baseball player born on December 1, 1930, in Bessemer, Alabama. He played as a catcher in the Major League Baseball (MLB) for eight seasons between 1950 and 1959, spending most of his career with the Detroit Tigers. House was known for his defensive skills, particularly his strong arm and excellent pitch-calling abilities. He also possessed some power hitting skills, hitting a career-high 16 home runs in 1955. House's baseball career began when he signed with the Detroit Tigers in 1949 as an amateur free agent. He made his MLB debut with the Tigers in 1950 and went on to spend most of his career with the team. House played a crucial role in helping the Tigers win the American League pennant in 1954, playing in 106 games and hitting .254 with 10 home runs and 44 runs batted in (RBIs). He also caught two no-hitters during his career, one with the Tigers and one with the Kansas City Athletics.

After retiring from baseball in 1959, House went on to become a coach and scout for various MLB teams, including the Tigers, Cincinnati Reds, and Seattle Mariners.
