Fred Talbot Autograph

Fred Talbot was an American baseball player born on September 28, 1941, in Cincinnati, Ohio. He began his professional baseball career in 1963 with the Kansas City Athletics, where he pitched for two seasons before being traded to the New York Yankees. Talbot spent the majority of his career with the Yankees, playing for them from 1965 to 1970. In 1967, Fred Talbot had his best season as a professional baseball player, posting a record of 14-9 with an ERA of 3.19. He also struck out 157 batters, which was the most in his career. Talbot's excellent performance helped the Yankees win the American League pennant that year. However, they lost the World Series to the St. Louis Cardinals, with Talbot taking the loss in Game 4.

After leaving the Yankees in 1970, Fred Talbot played for the Seattle Pilots and the Milwaukee Brewers, where he ended his career in 1972. In total, Talbot played in 182 major league games, winning 38 and losing 56 of them, with an ERA of 4.02. He is remembered for his time with the New York Yankees, where he was a reliable and effective starting pitcher, helping the team win the American League pennant in 1964 and 1967.
