Fu-Te Ni Autographs
Fu-Te Ni was born on November 14, 1982, in Kaohsiung, Taiwan. He is a former professional baseball pitcher who played for the Detroit Tigers and the Baltimore Orioles in Major League Baseball. Ni began his baseball career by playing for the La New Bears in the Chinese Professional Baseball League before signing with the Tigers in 2009.
Ni made his Major League debut on April 11, 2009, for the Detroit Tigers. He made history as the first pitcher from Taiwan to play for the Tigers. During his time with the Tigers, Ni appeared in 58 games and had an ERA of 4.64. He was released by the Tigers in 2011 and signed with the Orioles the same year. In total, Ni appeared in 6 games for the Orioles before being released in 2013.
Overall, Fu-Te Ni had a successful career in baseball in both Taiwan and the United States. He was known for his left-handed pitching skills and was a valuable asset to the teams he played for. Although his career in the Major Leagues was short-lived, Ni will always be remembered as the first Taiwanese player to play for the Detroit Tigers, and for paving the way for future Taiwanese players in Major League Baseball.
