Garrett Richards Autographs
Garrett Richards is a former American professional baseball pitcher born on May 27, 1988, in Riverside, California. He attended the University of Oklahoma, where he played college baseball for the Oklahoma Sooners. In 2009, he was selected by the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim in the 42nd round of the MLB draft. Despite the late selection, he quickly ascended through the minor leagues and made his Major League debut in 2011.
During his career, Richards pitched for the Angels, San Diego Padres, and the Boston Red Sox. He was known for his powerful pitching ability and his fastball, which could touch 100 miles per hour. He was also known for his sinker, slider, and curveball, which were all effective pitches that allowed him to keep opposing batters off balance. In his early years, Richards served primarily as a reliever, but eventually moved into the starting rotation where he saw even more success.
Throughout his career, Richards earned a reputation as a competitive and intense player who loved the game. Unfortunately, injuries would hamper his career, including elbow and knee injuries that required surgery. Despite these setbacks, Richards remained committed to returning to the mound and made a comeback with the Red Sox in 2021. He officially announced his retirement in August of that year, noting that while his career ended sooner than he hoped, he was grateful for the opportunities the game had given him.
