Gary Geiger Autograph

Gary Geiger, born on April 4, 1937, in Sand Ridge, Illinois, was an American professional baseball outfielder. He played for nine seasons in the Major League Baseball from 1958 to 1967. Geiger started his baseball career in the Minor League Baseball system in 1955 as an outfielder for the Marion Red Sox. In his rookie year, Geiger played in 120 games and hit .270 with 12 home runs and 57 RBIs. He quickly established himself as a solid defensive outfielder with excellent speed and a strong throwing arm. Geiger played an integral role in Boston's American League pennant-winning team in 1967. He hit .321 in the World Series, including a homer in Game 6 that forced a Game 7, which the Red Sox ultimately lost to the St. Louis Cardinals.

After his time with the Red Sox, Geiger spent three seasons with the Houston Astros, where he served as a backup outfielder before retiring at the end of the 1967 season. Throughout his career, he played in 830 games and hit 64 home runs with 275 RBIs while maintaining a .257 batting average. Following his baseball career, Geiger worked for an oil company in Texas and coached Little League Baseball teams.
