Waslewski made his major league debut for the Orioles in 1967 and was quickly traded to the Montreal Expos in their inaugural season in 1969. He spent three seasons with the Expos before being traded to the New York Yankees in 1972. Waslewski was known for his control on the mound and his ability to keep hitters off-balance with his off-speed pitches.

Despite his impressive performances, Waslewski's career was unfortunately cut short due to a devastating arm injury. He retired from baseball in 1973 with a career record of 20-25 and an ERA of 3.35. Despite his short career, Waslewski's impact on the game has not been forgotten, being remembered as a skilled, intelligent pitcher with a career that held great promise.
