George Bell Autographs
George Bell is a retired Dominican professional baseball player, who was born on October 21, 1959, in San Pedro de Macoris, Dominican Republic. Bell began his baseball career in the minor leagues in 1978 when he signed with the Philadelphia Phillies. He played for several minor league teams before being traded to the Toronto Blue Jays in 1980. Bell made his major league debut with the Blue Jays in 1981 and quickly established himself as one of the team's top players.
Bell's breakout year came in 1987, when he won the American League MVP award. He had a tremendous season, hitting .308 with 47 home runs and 134 RBIs. Bell's power and hitting ability made him a feared hitter and a key member of the Blue Jays team that won the AL East division in 1985, 1989, and 1991. Bell was a three-time All-Star and won three Silver Slugger awards during his career.
Bell retired from baseball in 1993 with a career batting average of .278, 265 home runs, and 1,002 RBIs. After his playing career, he worked as a hitting coach for the Cincinnati Reds and later managed the Chicago White Sox for two seasons. George Bell will always be remembered as one of the greatest players in Toronto Blue Jays history and a dominant force in baseball during the 1980s and early 1990s.
