Glenn Adams Autographs
Glenn Adams was a professional baseball player born on December 28, 1947, in Tifton, Georgia. He played as an outfielder in Major League Baseball from 1975 to 1984 for the San Francisco Giants, Texas Rangers, and Cleveland Indians. Glenn had an impressive career as a versatile left-handed hitter who played with power and speed.
Adams started his baseball career at the University of Georgia, where he played college baseball for the Bulldogs. He was then drafted in the fifth round of the 1968 MLB draft by the Boston Red Sox. He played in the minor leagues for six seasons before being traded to the San Francisco Giants in 1974. In 1975, Adams made his debut in the major leagues with the Giants, hitting a home run in his first at-bat. In his rookie season, he played in 100 games and hit .270 with six home runs and 33 RBIs.
Adams enjoyed his best season in 1977, playing for the Texas Rangers, where he hit 27 home runs, drove in 82 runs, and was named an American League All-Star. He also led the American League in triples that year. In his nine-year career, Adams batted .271 with 69 home runs, 358 RBIs, and 102 stolen bases in 853 games. He retired from professional baseball in 1984 and thereafter worked as an assistant coach and scout for the Cleveland Indians. Glenn Adams died on January 29, 2015, at the age of 67.
