Greg Brock is a former Major League Baseball first baseman who played for the Los Angeles Dodgers and Milwaukee Brewers during his career. Brock was born on June 14, 1957, in McMinnville, Oregon, and grew up playing baseball in the local leagues. He played college baseball at the University of Wyoming, where he was a standout player, and was eventually drafted by the Dodgers in the third round of the 1978 Major League Baseball draft. Brock made his Major League debut with the Dodgers in 1982 and quickly established himself as a solid hitter and first baseman. In his rookie season, he hit .312 with 20 home runs and 64 RBI, finishing second in the National League Rookie of the Year voting. He continued to be a consistent performer for the Dodgers over the next several seasons, helping the team win the World Series in 1988.
