In 2008, Dobbs helped the Phillies win the World Series, as he went 2-for-2 as a pinch hitter in the series against the Tampa Bay Rays.

After his time with the Phillies, Dobbs played for the Florida/Miami Marlins and the Washington Nationals. He retired from baseball in 2015 after playing briefly for the Triple-A affiliate of the Nationals. Over his 11-year MLB career, Dobbs hit .261 with 46 home runs and 261 runs batted in.
