Greg Golson Autographs
Greg Golson is a former professional baseball outfielder who was born on September 17, 1985, in Austin, Texas. He attended Connally High School in Pflugerville, Texas, where he played baseball and football. Golson was highly recruited in both sports, but he chose to pursue a career in baseball after being drafted by the Philadelphia Phillies in the first round of the 2004 MLB draft.
After signing with the Phillies, Golson spent several years in their minor league system, working his way up from Single-A to Triple-A. In 2008, he made his debut in the major leagues with the Phillies, appearing in just six games before being traded to the Texas Rangers. Golson spent the next few years bouncing between the Rangers and their minor league affiliates, but he struggled to find consistent playing time at the major league level.
In 2012, Golson signed a minor league contract with the Kansas City Royals and spent the season playing for their Triple-A affiliate. He had a solid year, hitting .264 with 12 home runs and 49 RBIs, but the Royals opted not to call him up to the majors. Golson continued to play in the minor leagues for several more years before retiring from professional baseball in 2017. Despite never finding sustained success in the big leagues, Golson was known for his impressive speed and athleticism in the outfield, as well as his work ethic and character on and off the field.
