Gregg Olson is a former professional baseball pitcher who played for five different Major League Baseball (MLB) teams throughout his 14-season career. He was born on October 11, 1966, in Scribner, Nebraska. In 1988, Olson was drafted by the Baltimore Orioles as the fourth overall pick. Olson played for the Orioles until 1993, earning two All-Star appearances and saving 160 games. He also held the team's record for consecutive saves at 41. Olson subsequently played for the Atlanta Braves, the Cleveland Indians, the Kansas City Royals, and the Arizona Diamondbacks. He retired in 2001 with a career ERA of 3.46, 217 saves, and 777 strikeouts. Olson is widely considered one of the most dominant closers of his era and remains a legend in the Orioles' history.

After retiring from baseball, Olson remained involved in the sport. He worked as a broadcaster for the Orioles and appeared on the network's pre-game and post-game shows. Olson also became a part-owner of the Aberdeen IronBirds, a minor league club located near his hometown in Maryland. In 2013, Olson took up coaching and became the pitching coach for the Auburn University Tigers. His contributions to the team helped establish Auburn as one of the top college baseball programs in the country. Olson is now regarded as one of the finest pitching coaches in the NCAA, and his contributions to the sport continue to inspire young pitchers to this day.
