Guy Bush Autographs
Guy Bush was a former professional baseball pitcher who played in Major League Baseball (MLB) for 17 seasons. He was born on August 23, 1901, in Aberdeen, Mississippi. He started playing baseball from a young age and went on to become one of the most successful pitchers of his time.
Bush made his debut in major league baseball with the Chicago Cubs in 1923. He quickly established himself as a prominent pitcher with impressive performances. In 1928, he played a crucial role in helping Cubs to win their second National League pennant. During his time with the Cubs, he made several appearances in the World Series, but unfortunately, failed to win any.
After his stint with the Cubs, Bush played for various teams including the Pittsburgh Pirates, the Philadelphia Phillies, and the Cincinnati Reds, among others. Despite his struggles with injuries and inconsistency, he continued to perform admirably in the field. Bush retired in 1938, with an impressive career record of 176 wins, 136 losses, 32 saves, and a 3.86 earned run average (ERA). He passed away on November 2, 1985, at the age of 84, and was inducted into the Mississippi Sports Hall of Fame in 1973.
