He was born on June 3, 1994, in Bronxville, New York, and started playing baseball at a young age. Bader attended the University of Florida and played for the Florida Gators baseball team, where he was named to the All-SEC team twice and helped the team reach the College World Series in 2015. Bader was selected by the St. Louis Cardinals in the third round of the 2015 MLB draft and began his professional career playing in the Cardinals minor league system. In 2017, he made his MLB debut, becoming the first player from the 2015 draft class to reach the majors. Bader quickly showed his potential as an outfielder and was praised for his speed and defensive skills. He finished the 2017 season with a .235 batting average, 3 home runs, and 10 RBIs in 32 games played.

Since then, Bader has become an important player for the St. Louis Cardinals and has continued to improve his game. In 2018, he was named the Cardinals' defensive player of the year and posted solid offensive numbers with a .264 batting average, 12 home runs, and 37 RBIs. Bader's speed and defense have also been crucial in helping the Cardinals reach the playoffs in 2019 and 2020.
