Chappas played as a shortstop and second baseman for the Chicago White Sox in 1978 and 1979 seasons. He made history as the shortest player to play in the Major League, but he struggled to make an impact in the league like he did in the minor leagues. He was a speedy infielder, but his height made it difficult for him to make plays against tall infielders. In his two seasons with the White Sox, he only played in a total of 84 games and batted .207.

After retiring from professional baseball in 1983, Chappas became a minor league coach for several minor league teams, including the White Sox, Cubs, Braves, and Tampa Bay Rays. Despite his short career in Major League Baseball, Harry Chappas will always be remembered as one of the shortest players ever to play in the league. Read even more about Harry Chappas at Wikipedia
