Harry Dorish Autographs
Harry George Dorish was an American baseball player born on June 15, 1921, in Waco, Texas. Dorish was a right-handed pitcher and played major league baseball for 10 seasons from 1947 to 1956. He played for the Chicago White Sox, Philadelphia Phillies, Detroit Tigers, and Baltimore Orioles.
Dorish started his baseball career in the minor leagues where he spent seven seasons before being called up to the majors. He made his debut for the Chicago White Sox on August 12, 1947, against the St. Louis Browns. Dorish played for the White Sox until 1953, where he appeared in 191 games and had a career ERA of 4.20. In 1954, he was traded to the Philadelphia Phillies, where he played two seasons before being traded to the Detroit Tigers in 1956.
Dorish ended his major league career with the Baltimore Orioles in 1956. His career statistics include 50 wins, 68 losses, and seven saves. He was known for his fastballs and a slider that helped him achieve a 2.82 ERA in his best season with the White Sox in 1951. In 1993, Dorish was inducted into the Texas Sports Hall of Fame for his contributions to baseball. He passed away on June 20, 2000, in Houston, Texas.
