Henry Rodriguez Autographs
Henry Rodriguez was a Venezuelan baseball player born on November 8, 1967. He started his career in the major league in 1991 with the Los Angeles Dodgers. As a right-handed relief pitcher, he was known for his formidable fastball and an impressive pitch speed that often clocked over 100 mph. This attribute earned him the nickname "Heat" Rodriguez.
Rodriguez played for many teams in his 14-year career in the major league, including the Montreal Expos, Chicago Cubs, Florida Marlins, San Francisco Giants, and many others. Despite some inconsistency in his performance and occasional injuries, he amassed 361 strikeouts, with a remarkable 3.55 ERA. In 1994, Rodriguez finished second in the National League in saves with 36 despite his team, Montreal Expos not making the post-season.
Rodriguez's baseball career suffered a tragic end on July 24, 2000, when he suffered a brain hemorrhage while pitching for the Cubs. The incident occurred while he was warming up in the 9th inning before the game against the Atlanta Braves. After emergency surgery, he spent months in the hospital recovering. He attempted a comeback with the Expos in 2001, but his performance was not as stellar as before, and he retired following that season. Despite the sudden end of his career, Rodriguez left an indelible mark with his impressive fastball that made him a remarkable player.
