Horace Stoneham Autograph
Horace Stoneham was born on April 27, 1903, in Newark, New Jersey, and was the owner of the New York and San Francisco Giants baseball teams. Stoneham took over ownership of the Giants from his father, who had founded the team, in 1936. Under Stoneham's ownership, the Giants enjoyed some of their most successful years, winning five National League pennants and the 1954 World Series. Stoneham remained the owner of the Giants until 1976, when he sold the team to a group of investors led by Bob Lurie. He passed away on January 7, 1990, at the age of 86.
