In 2007, Hunter Strickland was drafted by the Boston Red Sox in the 18th round of the amateur draft. He spent several years in the minor leagues, playing for different teams, trying to hone his skills as a pitcher. Strickland's breakthrough came in 2014 when he was signed by the San Francisco Giants. He was a key player for the Giants in their World Series victory that year, playing in nine games and delivering stunning performances. The following year, he set a career-high by striking out 50 batters in just over 50 innings pitched.
