In 1989, Snow was drafted by the California Angels in the 5th round of the MLB draft. He made his big league debut in September of 1992 and quickly established himself as one of the best defensive first basemen in the game. Over his 16-year career, Snow won six Gold Gloves for his stellar defensive play. He was also a solid hitter, finishing his career with a .268 batting average, 1,355 hits, and 188 home runs. Snow played for the Angels, Giants, and Red Sox and was a three-time All-Star. He is best remembered for his time with the Giants, where he played from 1997 to 2005 and won four Gold Gloves.

Off the field, Snow is known for his charitable work. In 2001, he and his wife started the J.T. Snow Foundation, which raises money to support children with special needs. Snow is also a big advocate for organ donation, having received a life-saving kidney transplant from his sister in 1993.
