Jack Brohamer Autographs
Jack Brohamer was an American professional baseball player, born on February 26, 1949, in Maywood, California. After graduating from Western High School, Brohamer was signed up by Cleveland Indians as an amateur free agent in 1967. He played as a versatile infielder and outfielder in the Major League Baseball (MLB) during the 1970s and 1980s, playing for four different teams, including the Indians, Chicago White Sox, Boston Red Sox, and Seattle Mariners.
Throughout his baseball career, Brohamer was a skilled utility player who effectively filled in gaps within the team’s playing lineup. Though he never became a full-time starter, his flexibility and ability to play any position made him valuable to the teams for which he played. Brohamer played in 617 games and successfully had a batting average of .240, with 20 home runs and 163 RBIs. He was also a hero of the 1976 American League Championship Series, where he hit one of the most memorable home runs in the history of the game, known as the "Moon Shot," in the fifth game against the New York Yankees.
After his playing career ended, Brohamer stayed connected to baseball, coaching at various levels, including college and in independent leagues. He was named Manager of the Year in 2011 when he led the Normal CornBelters to a Frontier League championship. Brohamer passed away on July 26, 2020, at the age of 71, leaving behind a legacy of being a humble and tenacious player who always put his team before himself.
