Jack Kralick Autographs
Jack Kralick was a left-handed pitcher who played in Major League Baseball for nine seasons from 1959 to 1967. Born on June 1, 1935, in Youngstown, Ohio, Kralick attended the University of Miami, Ohio. He made his MLB debut on July 26, 1959, for the Kansas City Athletics, and played for them until 1962. Kralick then played for the Minnesota Twins from 1962 to 1964 before finishing his career with the San Francisco Giants, the Boston Red Sox, and the Washington Senators.
Kralick achieved his biggest success with the Minnesota Twins, where he went 26-17 in two seasons and recorded two shutouts, 12 complete games, and a 3.19 ERA. He was selected to the American League All-Star team in 1961 and finished second in the AL in win-loss percentage, with a .750 record. Kralick's most notable game came on August 26, 1962, when he threw a no-hitter against the Kansas City Athletics, becoming the first pitcher in Twins history to do so. He walked five batters and struck out six in the 1-0 victory.
In his nine-year career, Kralick went 67-65 with a 3.56 ERA and 669 strikeouts in 1173 innings pitched. After retiring from baseball, Kralick became a teacher and high school baseball coach. He passed away on September 18, 2012, at the age of 77. Despite not being a household name, Kralick's no-hitter and impressive performances with the Twins cemented his legacy in baseball history.
