Jahmai Jones Autographs
Jahmai Jones is an American professional baseball player who currently plays as a second baseman for the Baltimore Orioles. He was born on August 4, 1997, in Roswell, Georgia. Jones attended the Wesleyan School, where he played as a standout baseball and basketball player. During his high school career, Jones was named Georgia's AAAA Baseball Player of the Year in his senior year. His excellent performance earned him a scholarship to the University of North Carolina for college baseball.
Jones began his professional baseball career in 2015 after he was drafted by the Los Angeles Angels in the second round of the MLB draft. He spent four seasons in the Angels' Minor League Baseball system, playing for several teams, including the Orem Owlz, Burlington Bees, Inland Empire 66ers, and Mobile BayBears. In 2019, Jones was named Angels' Minor League Player of the Year after batting .234 with 10 home runs and 24 stolen bases in 130 games. He was also named to the Arizona Fall League's All-Prospect team that year. In 2020, Jones was traded to the Baltimore Orioles in exchange for pitcher Alex Cobb. He made his MLB debut with the Orioles on April 28, 2021, against the New York Yankees.
Jones is considered one of the Orioles' top prospects and a promising player with excellent speed, power, and defensive skills. His versatility as an outfielder and infielder gives the Orioles more flexibility in their lineup. Jones has been compared to former Orioles' outfielder Adam Jones, with whom he shares the same last name and playing style. With his talent and potential, Jahmai Jones is expected to become a key player for the Orioles in the coming seasons.
