Jake Diekman began his professional baseball career in 2007 when he was drafted in the 30th round by the Philadelphia Phillies in the Major League Baseball draft. He played in the Phillies’ minor league system for five years, where he honed his skills and earned several accolades. In 2012, he made his debut for the Phillies, pitching in 35 games in his rookie season. Diekman played for the Phillies for five years before being traded to the Texas Rangers in 2015, where he continued his career as a relief pitcher. In 2019, he was traded to the Oakland Athletics, where he spent one year before moving on to join the Houston Astros in 2020.
