Jamie Easterly Autographs
Jamie Easterly was an American professional baseball player, born on March 29, 1953, in Houston, Texas. He made his Major League Baseball debut with the Atlanta Braves in 1974 after being drafted by them in the third round of the 1971 MLB draft. Easterly pitched in the big leagues for 12 seasons with the Braves, Cleveland Indians, Milwaukee Brewers, New York Yankees, and the Boston Red Sox. He was a left-handed relief pitcher known for his strong arm, and his career statistics include 34-47 record, a 4.62 ERA, and 25 saves. Throughout his baseball career, he earned a reputation for his fierce competitiveness and his ability to pitch in clutch situations.
Easterly's most notable season in the major leagues was in 1980, when he pitched for the Milwaukee Brewers. That year, he posted a 9-7 record and a 2.97 ERA while leading the American League in saves with 14. Easterly's standout performances helped the Brewers to their first World Series appearance but, unfortunately, they lost to the St. Louis Cardinals. In 1983, Easterly signed with the Boston Red Sox and made a significant contribution to their team, earning a 5-2 record with a 2.96 ERA in 40 relief appearances. Although his career was shortened due to various injuries, Easterly is remembered as a dominant relief pitcher who commanded respect from his opponents.
After his baseball career ended, Easterly went on to coach college baseball at North Harris County College in Texas before retiring. He passed away on February 18, 2021, at the age of 67.
