Jason Isringhausen Autographs
Jason Isringhausen is a former American baseball pitcher who had a successful career in the Major Leagues. He was born on September 7, 1972, in Brighton, Illinois, and grew up playing baseball. He was drafted by the New York Mets in 1991, and he made his debut for the team in 1995. He quickly established himself as a reliable closer and played with the Mets until 1999.
Isringhausen's career had some ups and downs. He was eventually traded to the Oakland Athletics, where he underwent reconstructive elbow surgery to repair a torn ligament. After that, he bounced around to several teams, including the St. Louis Cardinals and the Tampa Bay Rays. He finished his playing career with the Los Angeles Angels in 2012. Over his 16-year career, Isringhausen had a record of 51 wins and 55 losses, with an ERA of 3.64. He is perhaps best known for his nine-year stint with the Cardinals, where he helped the team win the World Series in 2006.
Isringhausen's contributions to the game of baseball led to his induction into the Mets' Hall of Fame in 2019. He was also named an All-Star twice, in 2000 and 2005. Isringhausen's pitching style was characterized by his fastball/slider combination, which allowed him to strike out many batters. Although injuries plagued him throughout his career, Isringhausen never lost his passion for the game. He retired as the 10th-leading closer in Major League Baseball history with 300 saves.
