Jay Buhner Autographs
Jay Buhner is a former professional baseball player who spent the majority of his career playing for the Seattle Mariners. He was born on August 13, 1964, in Louisville, Kentucky, and began his baseball career playing for the St. Xavier High School team. After graduating from high school, Buhner was drafted by the Pittsburgh Pirates in the third round of the 1984 Major League Baseball Draft.
Buhner's career really took off when he was traded to the Seattle Mariners in 1988. With the Mariners, he quickly became a fan favorite for his impressive power hitting and strong arm in the outfield. He played in Seattle for 14 seasons, during which he was a two-time All-Star and won a Gold Glove Award in 1996. Buhner was also known for his consistency as a hitter, finishing his career with a .254 batting average and hitting 310 home runs.
After retiring from baseball, Buhner remained involved in the sport, often serving as a commentator and analyst for various broadcasts. He was also inducted into the Seattle Mariners Hall of Fame in 2004, cementing his place as one of the team's all-time greats.
