Jeff's professional career began in 1992 when he made his debut with the Seattle Mariners. Initially, Jeff struggled a bit as a relief pitcher, but his speed and pitching style eventually earned him a place as one of the team's most reliable pitchers. In 1995, Jeff was instrumental in helping the Mariners to reach the playoffs for the first time in their history. He went on to pitch for several other teams, including the New York Yankees, Seattle Mariners, Texas Rangers, and Chicago White Sox. During his 15-year career, Jeff earned four World Series rings with the Yankees and pitched in over 800 games.

Jeff's 6'8" height and sidearm delivery was quite challenging for opposing hitters to face. He had a trademark slider that he relied on heavily to get outs. He was also known for his efficient pitching style, where he could pitch scoreless innings quickly and with minimal effort. Jeff retired from professional baseball in 2006, but he continued to stay involved in the game. Today, he works as a baseball analyst for the New York Yankees and is often seen making appearances on various sports talk shows.
