Jerry Augustine Autographs
Jerry Augustine was a pitcher with the Milwaukee Brewers during the 1970s and 1980s. He played with the team for 10 seasons between 1975 and 1984, before finishing his career with the San Diego Padres in 1984. Augustine was known as a reliable workhorse on the mound, and he made history by becoming the first Brewers pitcher to throw a no-hitter in 1981.
Throughout his career, Augustine took pride in his ability to be a versatile player, able to take on any role the team needed. He was primarily a starter during his early years with the Brewers, but he later switched to a relief role, where he became the team's go-to left-handed specialist. He earned a spot on the All-Star team in 1979 for his impressive performance as a relief pitcher that year.
After retiring from baseball, Augustine continued to stay involved in the game as a broadcaster and coach. He worked as a color commentator for Brewers games on television and radio for 12 years, before becoming a minor league pitching instructor. He eventually returned to the big leagues as a bullpen coach for the Brewers in 2011, and served in that role until retiring in 2018 after a total of 24 years with the organization.
