Jerry Blevins is a retired American professional baseball pitcher who played in Major League Baseball for a total of 13 seasons. He was born in Johnson City, Tennessee, in 1983 and attended the University of Dayton where he played college baseball for the Dayton Flyers. Blevins made his MLB debut with the Oakland Athletics in 2007, where he played for five seasons. He then played for the Washington Nationals, New York Mets, Atlanta Braves, and San Francisco Giants. Throughout his career, Blevins was known for being a left-handed reliever and had a sidearm throwing style. He was often used as a situational pitcher, coming into games to face left-handed hitters, and was highly effective in those situations.
