Jerry Remy was born in Fall River, Massachusetts, in November of 1952. He played baseball at Somerset High School, where he excelled as a shortstop. He went on to attend Roger Williams University but left after his sophomore year to play professional baseball. More about Jerry Remy

In 1971, Remy was drafted by the California Angels in the eighth round of the MLB draft. He made his major league debut with the Angels in 1975 and played for them for four seasons before being traded to the Boston Red Sox in 1978. He played second base for the Red Sox until 1985, earning All-Star honors in 1978 and 1979.
