Jerry Walker is a former American professional baseball pitcher who was born on May 18, 1939, in Jasper, Alabama. He started his career in Major League Baseball with the Baltimore Orioles in 1957, where he played for two seasons. He was traded to the Kansas City Athletics in 1959, where he had his most successful seasons as a starting pitcher. In his first full season with the Athletics in 1960, Walker led the American League in shutouts with five while maintaining a 3.26 ERA. He earned his first All-Star selection in 1961 after finishing the season with 12 wins and a 2.96 ERA. Despite his success, Walker was plagued with injuries throughout his career, which forced him to retire in 1967 at the age of 28.

Overall, Jerry Walker's professional baseball career may have been short-lived, but it was still memorable.
