Jesse Orosco is a retired left-handed relief pitcher who played in Major League Baseball (MLB) for 24 seasons from 1979 to 2003. He was born on April 21, 1957, in Santa Barbara, California, and grew up in nearby Santa Paula. Orosco made his MLB debut with the New York Mets in April 1979 and played for the team until 1987, becoming one of the most reliable relievers in the league. He helped the Mets win the 1986 World Series, pitching in three of the seven games and earning a save in Game 7. Orosco also played for the Los Angeles Dodgers, Cleveland Indians, Milwaukee Brewers, Baltimore Orioles, St. Louis Cardinals, San Diego Padres, and New York Yankees throughout his career.
