Jim Bolger was an American baseball player who played professionally as a pitcher for four seasons between 1950 and 1953. Bolger was born on April 25, 1928, in Cranston, Rhode Island, and attended Cranston High School where he excelled in baseball. Bolger made his major league debut for the Boston Braves on April 18, 1950, and played in a total of 49 games over the course of four seasons with the Braves (1950-1951), Pittsburgh Pirates (1952), and St. Louis Cardinals (1953). He had a career record of 4-4 with an earned run average (ERA) of 4.90 and 20 strikeouts. Bolger was primarily used as a relief pitcher and made his last appearance in the majors on April 15, 1953.

After his baseball career, Bolger worked in sales for the asbestos industry and later became the owner of Jim Bolger Sports, a sporting goods store in Warwick, Rhode Island. He continued to stay involved in baseball by coaching little league teams in the area. Jim Bolger passed away on June 23, 2008, at the age of 80, but his legacy as a professional baseball player and a dedicated coach remained with those who knew him.
