Jim Brewer Autographs
Jim Brewer was an American former professional baseball pitcher who played in Major League Baseball from 1960 to 1976. He was born on November 17, 1937, in Merced, California. Brewer played for four teams throughout his career, including the Los Angeles Dodgers, Chicago Cubs, Atlanta Braves, and California Angels. He had an overall record of 69-65 with 126 saves and a 2.96 ERA in 789 appearances.
Brewer's most notable seasons in the MLB were with the Los Angeles Dodgers from 1964 to 1976. During this time, he was primarily used as a relief pitcher, and his deception and command on the mound made him a key contributor to the team's success. He played in four National League Championship Series and three World Series, winning two championships with the Dodgers in 1965 and 1981. In the 1970 World Series, Brewer pitched seven innings without allowing any runs and helped the Dodgers to another National League pennant.
After retiring from baseball in 1976, Brewer returned to his hometown of Merced, California, where he became involved with youth baseball coaching. He also worked as a community ambassador, promoting the Dodgers and other local teams. Jim Brewer passed away on June 9, 1987, at the age of 49, due to brain cancer. lauding his expertise and dedication to the sport. Brewer was posthumously inducted into the Merced County Hall of Fame in 1989, and his legacy remains as a beloved former member of the Los Angeles Dodgers' championship teams.
