Jim Donohue Autographs
Jim Donohue was an American baseball player who made a name for himself in the sport during the 1950s and 1960s. Donohue was born on February 12, 1933, in New York City and grew up in a family of baseball enthusiasts. He began his baseball career in high school, where he played as a left-handed pitcher and first baseman. In 1953, Donohue was signed by the New York Yankees and started playing professional baseball.
Donohue played in the minor leagues for several years before finally getting his chance to play in the major leagues in 1959. He played his first game for the Detroit Tigers as a first baseman, and his performance on the field quickly earned him a reputation as a valuable player. In 1963, he was recruited by the New York Mets during their inaugural season and played for the team until his retirement in 1966. During his career, Donohue played in a total of 519 games, scoring 196 runs and hitting 233 RBIs.
Jim Donohue's contributions to the world of baseball did not end with his retirement from the sport. He continued to support young players and worked as a coach and a scout for several years. Donohue passed away on July 27, 2013, in New York at the age of 80. He will always be remembered as a talented player with a passion for the game, and his legacy in the world of baseball will continue to inspire young players for generations to come.
