Edmonds started his baseball career in 1988 and was drafted by the California Angels in the seventh round of the 1988 MLB Draft. After spending several years in their minor league system, he made his debut on September 9, 1993. Throughout his career, he played with teams like the Anaheim Angels, St. Louis Cardinals, San Diego Padres, Chicago Cubs, Milwaukee Brewers, and Cincinnati Reds. He was a four-time All-Star and earned eight Gold Glove Awards for his exceptional defense.
