Nash had a successful rookie season in 1964, posting a 12-1 record with an earned run average of 2.48. He became the first rookie pitcher to win his first 11 starts, breaking a record that had been set 61 years earlier. In 1966, Nash recorded his only career no-hitter against the Baltimore Orioles. He finished his career with a record of 68-69, 3.15 ERA, and 501 strikeouts. Nash was known for his fastball, curve, and changeup, and his ability to throw strikes, making him a difficult pitcher to face for opposing batters.

After his baseball career ended, Nash returned to California and worked in the insurance industry. He remained active in baseball, serving as a scout for several teams and participating in old-timers games. In 2008, he was inducted into the College Baseball Hall of Fame for his accomplishments at UC Berkeley. Nash passed away in 2020, but his legacy as a talented pitcher and respected member of the baseball community lives on.
