Jim Price is a former Major League Baseball player who was born on October 13, 1944, in Gloversville, NY. He was a catcher and a right-handed batter who played for four different teams in his ten-year career in Major League Baseball from 1967 to 1978. Price was drafted by the Detroit Tigers in the eighth round of the 1965 Major League Baseball draft, and he made his Major League debut on September 11, 1967. While playing for the Rangers, he caught the first no-hitter in the franchise's history, which was thrown by Nolan Ryan in 1973. Later, he played for the Cleveland Indians from 1975 to 1976, and he retired from playing Major League Baseball after playing two seasons with the Pittsburgh Pirates from 1977 to 1978.
