Joaquin Andujar Autographs
Joaquin Andujar was a professional baseball player from the Dominican Republic. He was born on December 21, 1952, in San Pedro de Macoris. He was known for his fierce competitiveness and his trademark phrase, "You cannot hit what you cannot see." Andujar played for several Major League Baseball teams throughout his career, including the Houston Astros, St. Louis Cardinals, and Oakland Athletics.
Andujar made his Major League debut in 1976 with the Houston Astros. He quickly established himself as a dominant starting pitcher, earning a reputation as one of the game's biggest competitors. He won 20 games for the first time in his career in 1984 while playing for the St. Louis Cardinals. Andujar helped lead the Cardinals to the World Series that year, where he pitched a complete game in the team's Game 7 victory.
Although Andujar was best known for his pitching, he was also an accomplished hitter. He won a Silver Slugger award in 1985 and was a .143 hitter with three career home runs. He retired in 1988 with a career record of 127-118 and a 3.58 ERA. He was later inducted into the St. Louis Cardinals Hall of Fame in recognition of his contributions to the team during his career. Andujar passed away on September 8, 2015, at the age of 62.
