Joe Bush Autographs
Joe Bush was an American baseball pitcher born on November 27, 1892, in Ehrenfeld, Pennsylvania. Bush's professional baseball career began in 1912 when he signed with his hometown team, the Johnstown Johnnies, of the Blue Ridge League. He made his Major League debut in 1912 for the Philadelphia Athletics, where he played for the next six seasons. Bush had his most successful season in 1918, winning a career-high 26 games with the Boston Red Sox, with a 2.11 ERA.
Bush was known for his fastball, which was clocked at around 90-to-95 miles per hour, a remarkable feat for the time. He also had a great curveball and control. Bush played for the Athletics, Red Sox, New York Yankees, St. Louis Browns, and Cincinnati Reds during his twelve-year career. He was a two-time World Series champion, winning his first in 1913 with the Athletics and second in 1923 with the Yankees.
Joe Bush retired from Major League Baseball in 1928, completing his career with an overall record of 195-183, 1,156 strikeouts, and a 3.51 ERA. He enjoyed a prosperous career, and several accolades highlighted his successful career. Assuredly, Joe Bush set an excellent example of persistence, dedication, and skill as a baseball pitcher during the early 20th century.
