Decker had a solid start to his baseball career with the Cubs and was regularly used as a starter. In 1973, he was traded to the Minnesota Twins, where he became one of the best relievers in the league. During his four years with the Twins, he helped them win two division championships in 1977 and 1978. Decker led the league in saves in 1978 and was named an All-Star that same year. However, a shoulder injury cut his career short, and he retired from baseball in 1982 at the age of 35.

Despite his shortened career, Joe Decker left a lasting impact on the game of baseball. He was known for his unique pitching style, which featured a hard fastball and a big curve. He was also known for his fearlessness on the mound and his ability to pitch in high-pressure situations. Decker’s legacy lives on, and he is remembered as one of the toughest pitchers in baseball history. Read even more about Joe Decker at Wikipedia
