Joe Garagiola was a legendary American baseball player, announcer, and television personality. Born on February 12, 1926, in St. Louis, Missouri, he began his baseball career in 1946 with the St. Louis Cardinals after serving in the military during World War II. Garagiola played as a catcher and was known for his outstanding defense and quick reflexes behind home plate.
