Joey Bart is an American professional baseball catcher for the San Francisco Giants of Major League Baseball (MLB). Born on December 15, 1996, in Buford, Georgia, Bart attended Buford High School, where he was a two-time Georgia Gatorade Player of the Year. Following high school, he committed to attend Georgia Tech, where he played for the Yellow Jackets for three seasons from 2017 to 2019. In his college career, Bart had an impressive .359 batting average, 79 RBIs, and 22 home runs.
In 2018, the Giants drafted Bart with the second overall pick in the MLB draft. He made his professional debut in the Arizona Fall League and then played for the San Jose Giants, where he finished with a .290 batting average, thirteen home runs, and forty RBIs. In 2020, Bart made his Major League debut with the San Francisco Giants, where he played in 33 games and finished with a .233 batting average, one home run, and seven RBIs. Bart's future in the big leagues is promising as he is touted as one of the most talented young catchers in baseball today.
